That awkward moment when you get in a car accident...

Earlier today I got in a car accident. T-boned on the passenger side of my car, but I was the only one in the car thank goodness.

Don't worry, I am fine. Not injured at all.

First accident I've ever had, and hopefully the last accident I'll ever have. (Knock on wood.)

Those things happen so fast. It was the fastest and one of the scariest moments of my life. But, it was over quickly, so that's good.

How are ya'll's Christmas breaks going?

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

Hahaha!

Today was rather a big adventure.

It's one of those days were just the littlest things make you laugh till you can't breath. I love those days.

I think the bird in the upper left hand corner is the just the pleasantest bird.

It's splendid. And so are you.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

Of Debit Cards and Wuthering Heights

I got a debit card recently. The first thing I bought with it was some cookies for my English class. Oh, the power of a little piece of plastic!

There's a really quite adorable shirt at work that I want to buy SO BADLY! But, I must not, for I must save my monies for tour.

I finished Wuthering Heights today. It left me feeling anxious...about what, you may ask? I've no idea...the ending was actually satisfying, and suffice it to say there is one relationship in Wuthering Heights that I approve of.

Regardlessssssssssssss...I don't know why I held down the s for so long...I just felt like it.

Anyway, I hope you all have the most splendid weekend!

Also, I WANT SOME SNOW!

Goodnight and good luck.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

Hmmm...

I haven't written on this in more than a month...

I suppose it's because of...well, many things...

Marching band, laziness, school, work, reading...

I shall first tell you about Marching Band...It was INCREDIBLE! We didn't get first at Red Rocks, we didn't get first at Band of America, and we didn't make it into finals...

But, we didn't need to. I was truly so proud of my marching band. It breaks my heart to say goodbye to this part of my life, but it has been an absolutely beautiful journey.

I have no regrets, and I must confess that I was scared that this year was not going to end well. Not that it was going to end bad...but because I am a selfish creature I was scared that it wasn't going to end the way I wanted it to.

The Lord came through though, like he always does. He took all my frets and worries and silly heartedness and threw it out the window.

It was fantastic!

Well, I'm too tired and lazy to write anymore right now. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

It's just the hurt before the healing...

What should I be doing right now?

Homework. Oh well.

This evening I went to a corn maze for mutual. It was fantastic. I got lost, along with most of the leaders from my ward. I try to stick with them on outings like this.

There's nothing quite like the moon beams on the horizon before the moons comes up. The soft glow that illuminates the sweet silhouette of the mountain. For some reason, seeing that always reminds me of when I was in fourth grade, watching the full moon come up at an older siblings marching band performance. There's a sweet nostolgia in the memories because it was from a time where I didn't have to worry about school, or work, or...life.

So, I'm grateful for that moon. For the memories and beauty...

It looked so marvelous shining down on the stalks of corn.

Good evening.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

SUPER RAD...

"High school is like a spork!"

I read that on My Life is Average once. I can't tell you who wrote it, only that they were quoting someone else.

Regardless, I believe it to be true.

And apparently "spork" isn't a word according to spell check...but what does spell check know?

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

The Good Doctor...

Dear friends,

I do realize it's been a while. School, work, extra curricular activities, laziness, writers block...

But I do feel that something should be written about.

That something is Dr. Who.

It's a television show I didn't think I'd love as much I do now.

I do love it.

I adore it.

It's simply...FANTASTIC.

I recommend it to everyone and anyone out there.

Take that leap into the realm of science fiction and "tasteful British humor" (teehee, remember that Sarah?)

It will change your life.

Sincerely,

Kaitlin Rodgers

School...

School.

School and I have a somewhat interesting relationship.

In all honesty though, I am excited for school to start. Regardless of how stressful I know it will get and how insane it will drive me, I manage my time better when I'm in school.

I am excited to see all my friends again, to walk down the dingy hallways, eat my PB&J sandwich in the lunch room, have mini panic attacks in math when I don't understand anything the teacher is saying...

Yeah, it's gonna be great...and incredibly difficult...but great.

And, as crazy as this may sound to some...I'm actually excited to learn. I love finding new things, going new places (figuratively) and understanding new ideas. I love it! I mean, of course sometimes I get absolutely aggravated by school, in math mostly because that is by far my worst subject.

I procrastinate.

I stay up to late sometimes.

I forget things.

But, isn't that what life is supposed to be about? Trying, failing, trying again...and then finally succeeding...hopefully.

I don't know, but I either way, it's gonna be great.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

P.S. Don't you just love the smell of new, fresh paper? It's to die for!

Vacuuming the lawn...

Vacuuming is spelled with two u's? Weird...

Regardless, our lawn mower sounds like it's going to explode any second. I think it's reaching the end of its already short life.

It makes a Rrrrch...Rrrch sound as apposed to a Rrrrrrrrrrrchrrrrrrrrrrrch sound.

Well, happy summer.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

Hur, hur, hur...

Today was an adventure.

Of sorts.

I went to "New Employee Orientation" today at Harmons where I will work starting next week as a cashier. I'm so grateful for the job, but I'm very nervous. Especially after all the checker (aka cashier) horror stories I heard today. But it will be good.

Here a picture of me in my new uniform.

Yup...that's me. I love how one side of my arms are tan-ish and the other sides are pretty much just extremely white.

Speaking of white, a traveling sales man came around our house today who was selling cleaning supplies. He said I looked like, "Beyonce dipped in vanilla."

Well, good day.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.
