Yup...it's only to be expected.

I am so excited for spring...

This is what happens with unseasonably warm weather.

I feel like going outside to play in the warmth of spring and summer with this lovely song playing in the background.

I love Phineas and Ferb...

I need some snow and some sunshine.

Such an odd feeling.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

Beauty and the Beast

My favorite movie of all time ever is Beauty and the Beast.

It's funny, daring, sad, sweet, romantic, and beautiful.

This song though, is not from the movie. It is from the Broadway Musical. It is utterly beautiful and I want to cry every time I hear it!

So, listen and love.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

Hmmm...

I haven't written on this in more than a month...

I suppose it's because of...well, many things...

Marching band, laziness, school, work, reading...

I shall first tell you about Marching Band...It was INCREDIBLE! We didn't get first at Red Rocks, we didn't get first at Band of America, and we didn't make it into finals...

But, we didn't need to. I was truly so proud of my marching band. It breaks my heart to say goodbye to this part of my life, but it has been an absolutely beautiful journey.

I have no regrets, and I must confess that I was scared that this year was not going to end well. Not that it was going to end bad...but because I am a selfish creature I was scared that it wasn't going to end the way I wanted it to.

The Lord came through though, like he always does. He took all my frets and worries and silly heartedness and threw it out the window.

It was fantastic!

Well, I'm too tired and lazy to write anymore right now. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

It's just the hurt before the healing...

What should I be doing right now?

Homework. Oh well.

This evening I went to a corn maze for mutual. It was fantastic. I got lost, along with most of the leaders from my ward. I try to stick with them on outings like this.

There's nothing quite like the moon beams on the horizon before the moons comes up. The soft glow that illuminates the sweet silhouette of the mountain. For some reason, seeing that always reminds me of when I was in fourth grade, watching the full moon come up at an older siblings marching band performance. There's a sweet nostolgia in the memories because it was from a time where I didn't have to worry about school, or work, or...life.

So, I'm grateful for that moon. For the memories and beauty...

It looked so marvelous shining down on the stalks of corn.

Good evening.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

The Good Doctor...

Dear friends,

I do realize it's been a while. School, work, extra curricular activities, laziness, writers block...

But I do feel that something should be written about.

That something is Dr. Who.

It's a television show I didn't think I'd love as much I do now.

I do love it.

I adore it.

It's simply...FANTASTIC.

I recommend it to everyone and anyone out there.

Take that leap into the realm of science fiction and "tasteful British humor" (teehee, remember that Sarah?)

It will change your life.

Sincerely,

Kaitlin Rodgers

Marching Band...

It's come.

Those glorious days of delight.

Of freaking out because of difficult music.

Chaos in moving large instruments all over the place.

Wonder in how I'm supposed to juggle everything.

Ah, I love it.

What's life without the messy bits?

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

P.S. MARCHING BAND IS THE GREATEST!

Best week of my life.

Oh Marching Band, I love you!

It's been awhile...

Dear kiddies...

I feel the writers block breaking its long silence.

I feel like I can't remember what I need to say but that there's always something to say. It's rather annoying.

I've decided I'm going to let my thoughts slip out through my finger tips and onto this keyboard which will transfer my words onto the screen and then, maybe then, something good will happen. Some sort of thought, some emotion will be put into the words which, for me, have been "just words" for so long.

Perhaps I should say something about dear Harry Potter. I know everyone's been talking about the books/movies since the last one came out. But I feel that after everything the books have done for me, I should at least declare my undying love for them.

Harry Potter saved me.

Those books brought me from a sad place in my silly elementary school brain to a new world with new friends and new places and new ideas.

Harry Potter was my escape. It still is sometimes. And I don't mean that I was trying to run away from anything. But sometimes things happened, as they always do, and I needed to forget for a little while. And what better place to go than into the adventure that is unlike any other, before or since.

Hope, despair, laughter, love, magic, good, evil, joy, anger, adventure, sadness, and so much more.

May I just say that when I read the last line of the seventh book ("All was well.") I balled like the baby I am for a good long while. I'd cried so much throughout the whole thing already and then, just when I thought I was going to be okay, it hit me. But it is so well worth the tears.

So much of my life has been wrapped up in this. I remember the exact place I was when I read the first book all the way through for the first time. I read it in one day, sitting on my couch, a little girl who's eyes had been opened to magic.

And, though some of it was changed up a bit, I really enjoyed the seventh movie.

Well, that's just some of my thoughts about my dear love for Harry Potter. Thank you J.K. Rowling.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

AND IT'S PLAIN TO SEE...

The writers block is still lingering, but I shall do my best.

This weekend I went to Idaho to visit my sister and brother in law. They have the cutest apartment ever! I loved it immensely. We hung out, went to the mall, ate delicious food and watched a lot of telly.

"Well, to work!"

I also pushed a peanut, yes, a peanut, from my sisters front door to the street with my nose...don't ask...

Also,

THE SECOND MOVEMENT FOR MARCHING BAND IS SO UTTERLY SPECTACULAR AND EVERY TIME I HEAR IT I GET GOOSEBUMPS AND I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO PASS OUT!

Yes, it's that amazing...

Next week I'm going to California for a Drum Major leadership conference!

It's gonna be a party.

And oh my goodness!!! I recently stumbled/was told about a Masterpiece Mystery series called "Sherlock" and IT IS UTTERLY FANTASTIC! It's Sherlock Holmes in modern day London (yesterday when I was telling my sister's friend about it I accidentally said "Latter-day London"...Ah, well, it was the Sabbath after all) Gah, it's fabulous!

Well, this has all been very random...I'm going to eat a cookie.

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

MARCHING BAND.

Glorious week.

I love marching band.

I cannot say it enough.

:)

Come see the parade tomorrow!

Also, "The Young Victoria" is an astoundingly marvelous movie with fantastic music.

I love it.

Happy Summer!

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

Tomorrow is a great day.

It's the beginning of something fantastic. Something epic. Something to laugh and cry about.

TOMORROW IS MARCHING BAND!

Life's complete once more.

Oh Marching Band, oh Marching Band, oh how I love you Marching Band!

YES! :D

If music be the food of love, play on...

There comes a moment in everyone's life when they encounter something so absolutely incredible, so mind bogglingly nerdy, so unbelievably fantastic that they cannot contain their joy and energy when it closes in upon them.

For me the "it" I'm referring to is less than two weeks away.

It is going to be utterly remarkable.

It is going to pass far to quickly.

It is going to bring triumphs and joys and sorrow and sore muscles.

It is Marching Band.

Ahhhhh! Glorious thing! I know, I know, it's so nerdy and weird and I suppose unhealthy that I love it this much...but if I could just convey to you how incredible it is, how much it's changed me, how fun and joyous it is...if I could just write a tenth of what it means to me then I believe you would understand.

It's one of those things you have to experience to get the full effect...but I love it and I am so flipping excited for the season to start!

Well, I'm off. Have pleasant dreams and grateful hearts!

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.

Why it's sad...

I feel sad that I lost my blog...I mean, it was almost to its 50th post. I had everything put in it's rightful place.

It was epic...I've lost a lot of good writing and I wish there was some way to get back all the posts at least. Somethings are lost that won't be found again.

Ah, well...sometimes new beginnings are what we need. Mayhaps losing the old Unbridled Enthusiasm is a blessing in diguise.

Regardless, it is gone and my tears cannot bring its return.

Sad panda...

Sincerely,
Kaitlin R.
